The Grass is Always Greener

Jonah 2:7 "As my life was slipping away I remembered the Lord. My prayer came to You in Your holy temple"

We run and run from what God is holding for us, think we can do it on our own, or allow doubt to slip in. We get this idea that its always better someplace else, till we get there and realize differently. Jonah tried to run from the task God had for Him and ended up in the belly of a large fish prepared by God. he stayed there till he couldn't survive any longer, and it wasn't until his life was slipping away that he finally cried out to God. Jonah placed his pride to the side and said ok Lord it is Your will and not mine. How far do we have to go before we submit and just obey God's plan for our lives? How much struggle will our pride endure, before humbling ourselves before our mighty Creator? Why does it take us so long to understand that no matter what the cost or what flesh sees as a sacrifice, isn't much at all, He gave His son for us...and we struggle with just doing His will. When truly it is when we lay ourselves aside, deny flesh and follow after God's will that we find joy, peace and life more abundantly.
